New Minimally-Invasive Prostate Cancer Treatment Now Available in the US

Dr. Michael Schlesinger is pleased to now offer High intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) treatment for prostate cancer here in North Carolina.  In October of 2015 the FDA approved the Sonablate HIFU treatment system for the ablation of prostate tissue.  Since 2008, Dr. Schlesinger has treated over 30 patients with HIFU at an offshore location.  Partnered with HIFU Prostate Services, Dr. Schlesinger has now successfully treated his first patient here in Huntersville, NC.  HIFU offers similar cure rates for prostate cancer as many more invasive treatment options with a lower risk of incontinence or erectile dysfunction.  In combination with advanced diagnostic MRI, HIFU
