Piedmont HealthCare is pleased to welcome Margot Wacks, DO
Dr. Wacks joins doctors Singh, Torres, and Ansley at PHC Women’s Center in Statesville conveniently located on Davie Avenue. A graduate of Stetson University, Deland FL, she earned her medical degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine, or DOs, believe “there’s more to good health than the absence of pain or disease.” – The American Osteopathic Association. Although MD’s and DO’s are both fully licensed physicians, the primary differences are that DOs go through additional training to learn manipulation techniques of the musculoskeletal system and have a more in depth focus on understanding how lifestyle and environmental factors impact a patient’s wellbeing. PHC Women’s Center is excited to bring on Dr. Wacks as their first DO physician. They expect this to be be a great benefit to their practice.
Margot Wacks, DO is DaVinci trained and certified. DaVinci is a minimally invasive robot that can be utilized for female gynecologic surgeries such as benign hysterectomies and surgeries for endometriosis.
