September 8, 2023 (Mooresville, NC) – Piedmont HealthCare is excited to welcome Dr. John Lesher, with Non-Surgical Spine and Sports Medicine at 170 Specialty. Dr. Lesher will be joining tenured physicians, Dr. Laila Menon in Gastroenterology, and Dr. Elaine Sunderlin in Endocrinology.
Dr. Lesher attended medical school at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. He attended the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington for his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He then completed a fellowship in Musculoskeletal Medicine and Interventional Spine in the department of Orthopedics at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
Board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and subspecialty certified in sports medicine, Dr. Lesher’s practice focuses on providing superior care for non-surgical spine, musculoskeletal, and sports injuries.
“I enjoy helping patients stay active, regardless of age, and my treatment philosophy encourages the ethos of motion is lotion and less reliance on the belief there is a pill for every ill” says Dr. John Lesher.
Originally from Doylestown, Pennsylvania, Dr. Lesher has enjoyed living and practicing in the Lake Norman area for over 15 years. He met his wife, also a physician, during his residency training in Seattle, and together, they co-parent a furry, 4-legged Cavachon, named Zoe. In his free time, Dr. Lesher follows his own advice to patients and pursues an active lifestyle focused on paddle boarding, surfing, hiking, and tennis. He prioritizes any time on the water whether that be local lakes or ocean.
