Piedmont HealthCare, PA, was named the 2016 Practice of the Year at the North Carolina Medical Group Management Association’s (NCMGMA) Annual Conference, held May 11-13, at the Marriott in Charleston, SC, with over 275 people in attendance. NCMGMA’s Practice of the Year Award recognizes a medical group practice that makes significant contributions to its community, patients and staff through volunteer work, fundraisers, staff wellness programs, community clean ups, and community screenings and education.

“Piedmont HealthCare truly embodies all that our Practice of the Year Award stands for. Their pledge to their community and patients, which includes outstanding patient care and dedication to their community that spans from the March of Dimes to the Alzheimer’s Walk each year. Additionally, this practice’s ability to allow staff to lead these community efforts really stood out in their submission.” says Laura Sanborn, NCMGMA’s 2011-12 President and current Governance Committee Chair.

The Practice of the Year Award, sponsored by First Citizens Bank, provides a $3,000 check to a charity chosen by the award recipient. This year’s funds will be given to the Cowgirls with a Cause which grants life-saving breast cancer screening and treatment to those who might not otherwise afford it.
