To get rid of earwax buildup, soften the earwax using over-the-counter products such as mineral oil, hydrogen peroxide, baby oil or glycerin. Earwax removal kits are also available that can get rid of excessive earwax.
Never put a hard object (cotton swab) into the ear to remove the wax. Doing so can push the wax further into the canal and cause a larger wax buildup.
