Lake Norman Family Medicine was founded in 1988 and began as an independent family and occupational medicine practice in Mooresville, NC. Later Lake Norman Family Medicine was the first Mooresville practice to join Piedmont HealthCare in 1998, and now has six providers at the practice. Dr. Timothy Barker, MD, Dr. Bruce Seaton, DO, Dr. Amanda Bailey, DO, Dr. Kyle Babinski, DO, Dr. Bilal Khan, DO, Sherard Spangler, PA-C.

Lake Norman Family Medicine’s Dr. Seaton also offers Pilot Flight Examinations! Dr. Seaton is a first-class Aviation Medical Examiner designated by the Federal Aviation Administration. Each pilot is required to meet specific medical standards depending on the class of medical certificate for which the pilot applies. As an FAA AME, Dr. Seaton completes pilot physicals.

1. What Made you want to become a Doctor?
“I was fascinated with the human body since my 4th grade quiz on the bones of the body and my interest only grew from there. I enjoy being able to work through complex clinical problems while also engaging in a personal relationship with patients” – Dr. Bilal Khan, DO
“Since I was a small child, I wanted to be a doctor. I enjoyed visiting my pediatrician and originally wanted to follow her path. My father had a type of Spinal Muscular Atrophy and was disabled so that meant lots of doctor visits for him as well. My grandmother was a retired nurse and my mother worked at our local hospital as the cashier. I was surrounded by the medical field growing up. Eventually, I decided to do family medicine as I could see a variety of ages and illnesses.” – Dr. Amanda Bailey, DO

3. What is a unique service, or something you are passionate about caring for as a doctor?
“I find satisfaction in providing well rounded primary care to patients of all ages, especially multiple generations of the same family.” – Dr. Bilal Khan, DO
“As far as my career as a physician, I want to provide the best care possible while showing my patients compassion. I want my patients to feel heard and seen. Every person is unique. No one needs to be seen as a number or rushed.
I enjoy treating a variety of chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes. I also enjoy preventive medicine.” – Dr. Amanda Bailey, DO
