Bellingham Family Medicine has been with Piedmont HealthCare since 1996, the year that PHC was founded. Since then, in October of 1999 they moved into the office they currently reside in, in Statesville on Gaither Road and expanded the 100 year old building twice. Bellingham then opened a second location in Troutman, NC in April of 2024.
Bellingham Family Medicine is ran and owned by father-son duo Dr. Daniel Bellingham and Dr. Dwight Bellingham. Along with their four PA-C’s, Stephanie Taylor, Kelsey McLelland, Haley Gosnell, and Summer Lackey. They also offer cosmetic services through Samantha Berube at their cosmetics center located in the Troutman Office.
“The place has character. My son joined us in 2021 and we were cramped in Statesville. We built our office in Troutman on Exit 42 closely mirroring the Statesville design but with a bit more room. We moved in April of 2024. We welcome our patients in both locations.” – Dr. Dan Bellingham

He has been a great mentor and friend throughout my life, so getting to move back to my home town to team up with him 4 years ago and then opening a new clinic location in Troutman last year has been a dream come true. Services Offered: Primary Care
- Women’s health including family planning, contraception management, office gynecology care, Pap smears/pelvic exams and Gardasil vaccine.
- Preventive health services for all ages. This includes Medicare Annual Wellness Visits with the development of a Personalized Prevention Plan.
- Complete physical examinations of personal, school, sports, camp, employment, and executive physicals.
- Evaluation and management of acute conditions including allergies, sinusitis, bronchitis, ear infections, sore throat, headache, chest pain, abdominal pain, urinary tract infections, hemorrhoids, back pain, joint pain, tendonitis, bursitis, skin rashes, and many others.
- Evaluation and management of chronic illnesses including diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, high cholesterol, ADHD, arthritis, allergies, asthma, chronic lung disease, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, and many others. We also participate in Medicare Chronic Care Management services. This enhanced benefit provides non-face-to-face care and occurs in addition to usual office visits.

What made you want to become a doctor?
“Since my journey of connection with God I have had a desire to take care of myself and share what I have learned. Becoming a doctor was a natural part of that process.” – Dr. Dan Bellingham
“I worked for Piedmont Healthcare as a teenager and for a year after high school scanning in charts during the conversion to EHR, at the front desk, and as a medical assistant. I loved the atmosphere and getting to know and serve the people in our community alongside a great team. “My favorite local business is Aurora Flora, a U-pick flower farm near our home in Mooresville. I might be a little biased since my wife owns it, but it’s a beautiful place where people can pick their own specialty cut-flower bouquet to enjoy with their family or share with loved ones. It’s been amazing to watch her labor of love as she started this up just a couple of years ago.” – Dr. Dwight Bellingham
What is a unique service, or something you are passionate about caring for as a doctor?
“I am passionate about teaching people how to find power from God to make positive change in their life and teaching proven techniques to reach goals.” – Dr. Dan Bellingham
“I am most passionate about helping people set and strive to achieve goals aimed at living healthier, happier lives through a holistic approach. A service that is somewhat unique for our family medicine clinic is that we love helping people address skin issues, from identifying and treating skin cancers to helping people look and feel their best through our aesthetic treatments such as laser therapies, botox, and filler.” – Dr. Dwight Bellingham
