We’re thrilled to announce that their Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine offices have recently acquired not just one, but two additional state-of-the-art PFT machines. This brings the total number of machines to three, allowing them to serve more patients that ever before with the latest technology in pulmonary function testing.

What is PFT?

A PFT machine, also know as a spirometer, measures lung function by recording how much air a patient can inhale and exhale, the speed of airflow, and gas exchange efficiency. It’s used to diagnose and monitor respiratory conditions like asthma, COPD, and interstitial lung disease.

With these new machines, our pulmonary offices can provide even more accurate and efficient assessments of lung function,  leading to improved diagnoses and treatment plans from our patients in both Mooresville and Statesville. Bridgette Caudill and Katherine Peters, are both now performing pulmonary function testing (PFT) on a full-time basis from Monday to Thursday. Bridgette will be conducting PFT tests in Mooresville on Wednesdays.

“With the addition of these new PFT machines, we’re proud to say that we can now reach a wider range of patients than ever before. From one side of the county to the other, we’re able to serve new patient demographics with cutting-edge technology” says Dr. Vishal Patel, with Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine.

Piedmont HealthCare is proud to be at the forefront of pulmonary medicine and looks forward to continuing to provide the highest level of care to our community.
