We are pleased to announce that Roderick Elias, MD, recently joined the staff at Piedmont HealthCare Lake Norman Neurology. Dr. Elias completed his undergraduate and graduate work at Tufts University in Medford, MA. He interned at Rutgers University at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Brunswick, NJ. His residency was completed at Rhode Island Hospital through Brown University in Providence, RI.
In addition to general neurology, his medical interests include Multiple Sclerosis (MS), neural plasticity, cellular and humoral immunity, and dietary and lifestyle approaches to medicine. “Medications can only do so much; lifestyle, diet, and exercise are other facets of any treatment plan that can have an enormous impact on all aspects of health,” Dr. Elias said.
Most of all, he got into medicine because he has a passion for helping people. His philosophy is to “help people become the best version of themselves.” Dr. Elias has been fascinated with neurology and the mind his whole life. He said, “…neurology emerges as the ultimate way to take the most mysterious aspects of our universe (mind and biology) and apply them in the most practical of ways: the improvement of human life.”
Dr. Elias said after meeting the staff at Lake Norman Neurology, he was very impressed with the practice and philosophy of care. He quickly became excited about moving to North Carolina and joining the team.
Dr. Elias is available for new patients. Please contact Lake Norman Neurology to schedule an appointment by calling 704-662- 3077 and choosing option 2 for appointments.
